Product Development StrategyTo strategize new product development for growing market and customer demands, Sidus Energy launches and periodically reviews its product and technology development roadmap. We introduce the concept of Integrated Product Development (IPD). With in-depth analysis of the diverse needs of customers and the investment portfolio, we define Sidus product series accordingly and implement structured product development processes to develop and introduce new products to volume production. In addition to optimizing performances of new products, we practice DFM (Design for Manufacturing) to ensure quality, safety, and reliability. Sidus Energy is committed to provide value add solutions to our customers.

Joint R&D MechanismAfter Sidus and IBM signed technology license agreement (TLA) and joint development agreement (JDA) on September 24, 2019, Sidus team has been working very closely with IBM team since then. Based on the framework of the joint R&D mechanism, the two parties’ scientists coordinate to engage in research and development at the IBM battery lab located in Silicon Valley, and Sidus IBM Cobalt-free Lithium Battery R&D Center in Changzhou. Sidus and IBM teams demonstrate strong dedication and great collaboration throughout the joint development. IBM has been providing strong research support for the development of LEO battery technology. The resulting technologies and intellectual property rights are jointly owned by both parties.

R&D CapabilitiesSidus Energy has been investing heavily in building up R&D infrastructures and recruiting talents to further advance LEO battery technology. Our R&D team consists seasoned scientists with advanced degrees and engineers with rich battery industry experiences. By the first quarter of 2020, senior battery scientists with Ph.D. degrees accounted for 43% of our core R&D team. Furthermore, we also set up an incentive program to promote and reward our employees to accelerate the pace of technological and product innovation. The continuous innovation will bring more value to global customers.
